What is AlignRT Advance?
AlignRT® Advance is the market-leading Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) system for tracking a patient’s position before and during radiation therapy, to help ensure a streamlined workflow for accurate treatment delivery.
AlignRT Advance makes treatment safer by using a contact-free technique to track a patient’s skin surface in real-time with sub-millimetric† accuracy and ensures radiation is only delivered when the patient is correctly positioned. If a patient moves, AlignRT Advance can automatically signal the treatment delivery system to pause radiation.
AlignRT Advance also benefits patient comfort, as it can eliminate the need for tattoos or other permanent marks, avoid the use of traditional closed mask or frame-based SRS, and reduce the need for pediatric anesthesia.

AlignRT is safe, non-invasive and can be used for fast and accurate patient setup and monitoring for all forms of cancer, including breast, brain, lung, liver, sarcoma, head and neck, and other cancers.
Breast and Deep Inspiration Breath Hold
(DIBH)
During a recent study at the University of North Carolina, patients were treated using AlignRT for DIBH. Of these, 0% exhibited radiation-induced abnormalities in blood flow to the heart six months after treatment¹.
Stereotactic Radiosurgery
(SRS)
AlignRT® provides greater patient comfort, with options for open-faced masks and faster treatment times, while maintaining comparable outcomes to frame-based SRS.
Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy
(SBRT/ SABR)
AlignRT® can track motion with better than 1mm accuracy, and as a result, is used for both standard and breath-hold SBRT (also known as SABR).
Sarcoma
A study from Massachusetts General Hospital² using AlignRT on sarcoma patients concluded that “Surface imaging may reduce setup errors and is a feasible technique for daily image guidance.”
Pediatrics
Traditional treatments may involve tattoos, additional radiation, restrictive immobilization devices, or even anesthesia. By potentially removing these elements, SGRT with AlignRT can help ensure treatments are as painless and comfortable as possible.
