22nd Jul 2007 Vision RT is pleased to announce the sale of an AlignRT® system to Memorial Sloan Ketteri ng Cancer Center (MSKCC), NY. The system has been recently installed in a new state of the art treatment room. Howard Amols, Ph.D., Chief of Clinical Physics at MSKCC comments: “AlignRT® offers great potential in providing real time tracking of the patient’s position during radiation delivery. Key interest areas in which the system is to be introduced at MSKCC are intra-fraction surveillance, in particular for extended hypo-fractionated treatments, and respiratory gating”. Vision RT and MSKCC have established a research collaboration in order to further advance the application of AlignRT®, and to introduce Vision RT’s new product, GateRT®*, into the clinic. “We are very excited about working with the group at MSKCC”, says Dr Norman Smith, CEO of Vision RT. “In addition to the outstanding resources which MSKCC is able to provide, their investment in our technology is further endorsement of its importance in advanced image guided radiation therapy”.
