2nd Nov 2006 AlignRT® is a revolutionary solution for 3D patient setup and real time surveillance during radiotherapy treatment. Since gaining 510(k) clearance in early 2006, the system has been sold to a number of leading clinics around the USA. One AlignRT® system has been installed in Massachusetts General Hospital (‘MGH’), and two units have been sold to the University of Florida, Gainesville and Jacksonville. The Radiation Oncology Department at UC Davis Cancer has purchased two recently installed systems. Systems have also been sold to Washington University, St Louis and to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. In addition, a further system has been ordered for the Proton Therapy Centre at MGH, and New England Medical Centre has ordered an AlignRT® system for installation in 2007. “The uptake of the AlignRT® product by leading centres in the US is testimony to its significance within the context of advanced image guided radiation therapy”, says Dr Norman Smith, CEO of Vision RT. “We look forward to building on our recent successes and to accelerating the market penetration of this exciting product in both the US and beyond”.
