Risk Management Engineer (Medical Devices)

Reporting to: VP Product Delivery
Department: Research and Development
Location: London

Role Overview:

A qualified, highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Engineer is required to join our Research and Development Division based in North London.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor and review changes to regulations and standards and make recommendations for maintaining compliance for risk management
  • Maintain risk management procedures, and related templates and forms
  • Support all risk management activities for full product lifecycle including:
    1. Maintenance of the risk management file
    2. Maintenance of the risk management plan
    3. Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of potential hazards identified from usability studies, post market surveillance and design changes
    4. Maintenance of the register of risks
    5. Input to impact analysis of design changes
    6. Risk review of residual anomalies and test deviations
    7. Participation in formal design reviews and project meetings as required
    8. Generation of risk management reports
    9. Post market surveillance
  • Support queries made concerning safety evaluations from the complaint handing team.
  • Support safety related investigations made in by the quality management department when investigating non-conformances, observations and CAPA
  • Contribute to, and participate in health hazard evaluations as required
  • Provide information, when required, to other risk processes, including production risk management, and cybersecurity

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in science / engineering based subject
  • Recognised professional qualification in risk management
  • Extensive commercial experience in risk management for medical devices or related field
  • Excellent attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Knowledge, or practical experience with the following would also be would be an advantage:
  1. Cybersecurity
  2. usability engineering
  3. 3rd party independent safety testing
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

C# Software Engineer – Medical Imaging (multiple roles)

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must have relevant industry experience in a computer science, engineering, mathematics or scientific discipline
  • Windows application development experience (extensive experience).
  • C# with Visual Studio (2010, 2012, 2013, or ideally 2015) is essential.
  • .NET Frameworks
  • 32-bit and 64-bit native support.
  • Excellent object orientation design knowledge (following SOLID principles) and design patterns.
  • WPF (XAML) and MVVM design pattern (preferably using Prism).
  • Network and process communication (preferably WCF).
  • Data storage and management using standard SQL database engines
  • Test driven development experience (preferably NUnit).

C++ Software Engineer – Medical Imaging (multiple roles)

Field Service Engineer

Department: Technical Support
Reporting to: Technical Support Manager
Location: Germany
Closing Date: April 2017

Overview:

This role requires extensive travel installing, supporting and maintaining all of Vision RT product range. Due to the nature of the medical industry some unsocial working hours is required.  This role requires the provision of “on call” telephone support on a rotational basis.

Profile:

  • Highly motivated customer focussed engineer with excellent customer facing and technical problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable interfacing with clients and other stakeholders at all levels of their organisation.
  • Results orientated with a “Can Do” attitude and clear enthusiasm for excelling in customer satisfaction.
  • Strong proactive work ethic.
  • Experienced field engineer with electro mechanical and IT skills, ideally from medical industry.
  • Commercially aware.

Key Activities:

  • Install, support and maintain Vision RT product range.
  • Perform site surveys ensuring all aspects of installation requirements are met in line with Vision RT processes and procedures.
  • Provide reactive breakdown support (remote and on site).
  • Provide planned maintenance/ upgrade support (remote and on site).
  • Plan and perform installations in line with Vision RT installation processes & procedures.
  • Liaise with customers and our installers.

Educational & Experience:

Technically qualified experienced field engineer. IT skills:

  • Hardware Diagnostic experience
  • Good PC hardware skills including replacing PC components
  • Windows XP and Windows 7; Registry editing; TCP IP Networking; windows updates.
  • Trouble shooting utilising Event Viewer.
  • Overview knowledge of firewalls and configuration.

Electro Mechanical:

  • Excellent fault finding skills.
  • Ability to drill and mount, mechanical bracketry in raised ceilings.
  • Knowledge of wiring regulations.

General:

  • Ability to read and work with technical drawings and architects drawings.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.

Communications and working relationships:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Complete and submit on time ALL Vision RT paperwork. ( e.g. timesheets, expenses, site surveys,customer installation acceptance report)
  • Liaise with customers and Vision RT support on all aspects of installations.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a cross functional teams.

Senior Test Engineer

Reporting to: Programme Test Manager

Role Overview:

Superb opportunity for an excellent Senior Test Engineer to join this rapidly growing, global radiotherapy medical device manufacturer headquartered in London. As Test Engineer you will join a team of friendly, highly qualified and accomplished professionals and have the opportunity to make a real difference.

Responsibilities:

  • Go through the software requirements and get clarifications on one’s doubts
  • Become familiar with the software under test and any other software related to it
  • Understand the test plan
  • Generate test cases based on the requirements and other documents
  • Procure or create test data required for testing
  • Set up the required test beds (hardware, software and network)
  • Test software releases by executing assigned tests (manual and/ or automated
  • Log defects on defect management tool
  • Create test logs
  • Report test results to the test manager/Lead
  • Provide clarification for the reassigned bugs (for example, when a bug report is returned as not reproducible)
  • Re-test resolved defects
  • Update test cases based on the discovered defects
  • Provide inputs to the team in order to improve the test process
  • Report work progress and any problems faced to the Test Lead or Manager as required
  • Support Offshore test resource in setting up test environment.
  • Support the team with other activities as required, if any

The Candidate:

  • You will have come from a solid testing background with experience in manual and automation testing
  • Must have at least 5 to 6 years of experience in software testing
  • Medical device testing background would be highly advantageous.
  • Extensive experience working in agile environment & embedded domain is a Must.
  • Experienced in using test management tool such as Quality Centre/ALM, SpiraTest, practices.
  • Experience in using defect management tool such as Mantis, Jira etc.
  • Candidate should be an expert in designing test case and logging defects
  • Experienced in maintaining requirement traceability metrics
  • Experienced in generating defect and test execution reports
  • Experienced in exploratory testing and eye for identifying defects
  • ISTQB Certification is Mandatory
  • Candidates may be required to travel to customers for testing as and when required
  • Keep himself/ herself up-to-date on the overview of the development/Test technology, the popular testing tools (e.g. automated testing tools and test management systems) and the overview of the medical business domain
